Welcome to the club Curtis. Everyone had his firsts, and yours look not bad. A small amendment: Only P-40F & L had the Packard-Merlin Engine. The other variants were equipped with Allison Engines.

Luis: This model was a fairly quick build. The model was a gift from my daughter, a C-130J pilot. I had just done the Airfix 1/72 scale RAF C130K Hercules in the dark earth and British Gulf light stone so this just flowed from that. Trying to create the camouflage patterns on the smaller plane proved much more difficult. Decals were provided for the walk area from the back of the wing to the cockpit in white but I think I probably should have painted them on and maybe done them in black.
Dieter: You are correct about the engine. The history supplied by Brigadier General Stanley Ulanoff was not completely accurate as he was speaking more to the Warhawks used by the "Flying Tigers."

Album info

The "Warhawks" followed the "Tomahawks" and the "Kittyhawks." The Curtis P-40E Warhawk was a single inline Allison engine low-wing monoplane and had two additional 50-calibre machine guns over the "D" model.
