Cool to see your Modeler's Den and good job in being creative not only in modeling but in usage of available space as well 😄 👍 Some great kits in there too! 👍

I see you have a '71 Mach I Mustang. I had a real one that looked just like the one pictured back in the 70's. Paid $2,000. for it.It had a 351 ci in. Cleavland eng with a Herst shifter. I could get 10-15 mpg anytime I wanted. Gas was only $.25 per gal high test. Gary

impressive collection, you have special taste of picking up kits subjects.

Question: thoughts on Monogram Black Widow P-61 ? Do you ecommend ? i'm planning to grab one and have doubts since it's relatively an old kit.

Well I can't speak for it's accuracy but it has many parts and appears to be fairly detailed. yes, it's old - I got it for my 17th birthday and I am 43 now! 😛

Fine stash of interesting kits you got there! And the beautifully structured chaos on your bench looks great.... 😛

@ Hunter: John doesn´t have a modeling room, he lives in the place we modelers all want to be after we passed away. The real scale model heaven.

John Van Kooten
Hahaha! Thanks Matthias 😉 lol
17 October 2014, 07:57
Matthias Weiss
But as far as I know only modelers with perfectly cleaned up work benches can enter that place.
At least I heard that....
So I´ll see you there than. 😉

Jesus!! Fabian where did you get this magnifying light??
17 October 2014, 12:13
Holger Kranich
@ Matthias, Modellbaukönig has such light´s. Approx 40-50€.
17 October 2014, 14:26
Matthias Weiss
I know Holger but I mean that specific light that Fabian has, exactly that one...
17 October 2014, 14:28
Holger Kranich
Ah, ok! 👍

Fabian D.
That specific light that I exactly have... 😉 I've got it second hand, no clue how old it is or where it originally came from. It's made by Waldmann, Nr. 111851, RTL 122 T, if that's any help.

17 October 2014, 14:59
Matthias Weiss
Don't worry Fabian, I know the light and the manufacturer - I work for him. 🙂 🙂

I was just surprised to see it on your workbench so I thought "could it? Is Fabian perhaps one of my colleagues in Germany and we both didn't know it??" As normally we don't sell to private citizens but if you got it second hand it's a different story. But you know, the world is really small...

Fabian D.
Ahh... I'm not even done studying jet, so unless you're working for a hotel company based in Cologne, it's pretty unlikely that we're colleagues 😉
It's a fairly nice toy, although the ignighter ( ? Called Starter here) is a bit noisy from time to time 😛

Album info

Well living in a one bedroom apartment in Downtown Vancouver can be challenging at the best of times....when you model AND collect things AND your girlfriend collects things it can be downright insane! I keep most of my 600 kits in a storage facility along with my lighting gear for videography. I do keep this assortment of kits under my bed 😛 ....it's more than it looks because there's actually two or three kits in each of the boxes....a trick I learned long ago!
