This was the display by Brisban Truck and Car club SM, and Rosie had all the kids lookin for the cat, the crowe, the birds nest and anything else that they had hidden there, but it think it is the best club display I have ever seen. Atypical Ausie junk ya

This is a card stock model, and the guy who built it got out of Iraq just as the war started there, and I am so glad he made it, as it would have been so sad to lose a talent like this, and he is also a good mate too.

Historic fact. "This was the 190 that Herman Goering had coated in real gold as a gift to Adolf Hitler, and it won gold, as the overall look and finish was the best I have ever seen.

The next lot of images are some of the most moving I have ever seen. Scenes taken from photographs of when the ANZAC legends were born at Gallipoli in Turkey 1915.

Album image #56
Look closely and the true feeling of all that happened there comes to life, some extraordinary detail was done on these scenes.

Album image #57
For those who do not know what ANZAC means, they were the capitol letters of "Australian And New Zealand Army Corps". A time and place that cemented out two countries together in the blood of war, being part of the British Commonwealth. "Lest we forget".

Matthias, I didn't win a prize for my models for many many years, but after my first, I was more confident and I payed more attention to detail, but one day, your going to have that huge smile that no one could wipe off your face, trust me. 🙂

like the diorama with the gun that they are pulling uphill a lot... only minor thing is that one can see the wires that make the fallen tree, but otherwise...

It was a brand new venue, and it was just so easy to 'access all areas'.
I am looking forward to next year. 🙂
26 August 2015, 08:23
Gareth Windsor
You chose a great background story for the dio this year which maybe another reason for the award you won. I can't wait to see what you come up with next time.
26 August 2015, 08:38
Kerry COX
Actually, the public knew nothing of the background story, and I won the award purely on it's visual impact.:-/
I wanted to place a "Story sheet" on the frame but It was something I was 'encouraged' not to do. !!
26 August 2015, 09:05
