it took me almost whole day to do one layer of paint, using my trusty #1 paintbrush, but already 2nd layer looks promising...

black is finished in 4 layers, time to paint red - because black couldn't be overpainted, I had to clean it using 96% alcohol and paint red in 3 layers.

problem with thick decals and mat decal film, which has to be removed from transparent areas...
At the same time, I had to keep character spacing and decal geometry, so everything was cut AFTER decal was placed...

Eh, Italeri... They gave instructions for placing decals, but not the 'L' decal itself, so it had to be painted...
This is not the first time I miss important decal on Italeri sheet - they did great job with stencils, while missing important tactical marking :-/

Nice work Zoran 👍 That colored photo-etch really adds to the cockpit.

So, wash is done using mixture of artistic oil paints, and additional weathering on plane and details using no-name art pigments (< 1€ / 100g 🙂 )
In the end, I have glued wheel and bomb-bay doors and attached antenna cable, so I call it finished! 🙂
I'll take additional pictures these days, when I find some free time...
To conclude, this is really nice model, but throw decals to trash and find yourself useful set...

nice work. love the weathering. Maybe you can keep the dirt on the sidewalls of the wheels, but remove some on the side that rolls over the ground... But I don't think these did land on unprepared runways...

Thanks, Bart, on the comment; regarding mud, I have placed it on wheels after the picture of the real "Miss Lillian", as on the cover image of my project... I plan to make base for it, which is going to be muddy as it was for real.
