Thank you. The hull panels are decals that I made from the original Babylon 5 3D model's skin image.

idd a nice painting, the effect of the different shades on the plates is just about right without looking chessboardisch... must have taken a lot of tape...

The effect on the plates is done with decals. Not paint. Only tape that was used was used for measuring the round areas while planning and cutting the decals.

I printed A4 sheets and then cut small pieces from that. I had lighter decals for the grey areas and darker for the blue. here's one photo: Hyperion WIP | Album by Feikki (1:4105)

I planned carefully how to cut the pieces from the sheet and cut and test fitted them and carefully added them to the model. I used Vallejo's Decal medium and Decal set. Decal medium goes under the decal and softens it, helping to remove the air bubbles causing silvering. Decal set goes over it and helps hiding the edges.

Thanks! I'm really happy for the result! I haven't done anything like this before. It took lot of work but it was worth it.

Huge thanks for everyone who's been cheering me during these couple of years I've been working on this. I'd like to thank Tom Smith for his inspiring Babylon 5 scrolls site and excellent reference photos. I also got reference pics from Vince. Text marking decals are from J-Bot. Panel decals I made myself from the b5hull.jpg
