Crusader AA

Album image #1
First all attached parts, which are replaced by photoetched parts have to be removed, the hull is constructed and the running gear installed...

Album image #2
Then the first parts from the Eduard-Sheet join into the game...together with 6 links of friul...they fit perfect!! Dont worry, please, the small white rods will be shortened when the glue has dried up...

Album image #3
After large parts of the fenders being constructed and attached the kit made an attemt to flee from my workbench...didnt get far, but fell on the floor. Some parts where completely destroyed, some lost (wonder where they are...).

Album image #4
Nearly everything is in place...reconstructed the fenders from styrene sheet, 0,2 mm thick

Album image #5
If used, take care of the photo etch parts...they tend to break easily!

Album image #6
Hull completed, just shackles are missing.

Album image #7
Used the antennas of RB, quiet nice and perfect!

Album image #8
First try-on of tracks! Vehicle is ready for some color!

Album image #9
Used the RB-barrels, they are marvelous!

Album image #10
If you take care the aiming-sight will stay moveable

The kit survived a crash from my work bench...was a hard one with parts falling off and photoetch-parts flying into Nirvana...had to reconstruct the whole front fenders and part of the fenders in the back with plastic card...But i also finished the Friul tracks and started to attach the small parts on the hull...
The Resin wheels are excellent. Just a little bit of trimming and the fit perfect.
Will now try to fix all the smaller parts on the hull (stowage boxes, tools,...)

The hull is comleted, just the shackles are missing. Will soon start with the turret. Care must be taken if someone wants to use the Eduard-photo-etch-parts...they tend to break very easily. And you have to sand them on both sides...otherwise the glue won´t get a hold on them.
The kit is nice, old but nearly no putty has to be used (so far)!

The build is finished, so now i ask myself if this tank can carry a Micky-Mouse-Camo...There is one surviving example in Saumur that wears a kind of that camo.
Before adding some color i will wash the complete vehicle with soap and hot water, using a brush to wash of all kinds of fat or rests of dust from sanding.
