Side details could use an enhancement... like another door.

Rescribed panel (door) lines and scratched up a bench to add a second row of seating.

Even though the box said hard top, it was the soft top, so I had to call in a resin replacement.

A few modifications to open the windows, scribe the door panels.

Heh. This one was feeling a bit lonely. Nice to know I can count on my fan.😉
After a couple of do-overs on the windows (I really have issues with CA glue and clear parts!) I finally got the windows stuck in place (and still clear,) using Future and a bit of a wedge. So now I've got the top on and can start finishing up the exterior.

Ok... after a slight work-related Olympics pause... we're back in action. Finally got some green paint on this one. I ended up knocking out the windows while masking them, but got them back in place with just a few scratches. I'm really happy with how the recessed door handles turned out. Is it nice when things work better than expected?

I did a bit, but I was working, so a lot of it was on the periphery or in the background.

Got the wheels and bumpers on. After the coat of future dries, I'll give the front grill a shot at the dry brush. Also started work on a little display base.

Well... done. I'm happy enough for a 1/72 (or is that 1/76?) scale project.

Hey Greg, could you do a little Demo on how you do your bases and some of the materials that you use. I need to do a few for some up coming projects that I am finishing, Thanks

Thanks John. I'd be happy to snap a few pics. For this base it was super simple, I just cut out a disc of "artificial grass" paper I got from a craft store and then glued it to the plastic lid off a can of Pringles. Then I used some rough sandpaper to gouge out a bit of a road and sprayed a couple of shades of khaki/brown down on the path. Then a few dabs of white glue and some "veggy-looking" confetti... and voila~

Haha! Thanks Frank! I quite like the colour too, but it's not a special blend, it's just Tamiya Cockpit Green (Xf-71?). I know because I realised from these pics that one of my beloved door handles fell off, so I need to replace it. Also, after talking to John, the paper grass decided not to stick to the clear plastic of the Pringles cap. I liked the look but decided to paint in green to see if that helps the glue stick.

Hey Greg, those kind of lids don't take glue well. I use them for super glue palette. The glue will flake off when dry. I don't know about paints I have not tried it. I will look for some paper grass over the weekend and maybe get some unfinished wood bases. I need several base for projects I want to do, some grass and dirt and a few US Carrier Deck for my A-1 Skyraider and A-4B Skyhawk in Vietnam.

Hmm... I use them as a palette for thinned Tamiya putty and you're right, it just flakes off. The paint is a bit better, but it's also a bit touchy about being handled.

Greg and Martin, I think it's the kind of plastic the lids are made of were stuff wont stick to it. I think it's some kind of Nylon. May be use a metal lids from small glass jars may work better.
