Lanchester Armoured Car

I can't recommend the kit enough. It goes together like a dream. Some people reported issues with the turret assembly. If you take your time with parts alignment, you will be fine.

Photoetched rear fenders still missing here.

Trying to align the hinges on the visor and the hull roof as well as the bottom edge of the visor at the same time, I sanded the visor plate too much and had to extend it with an Evergreen beam.

There are some (almost invisible) mold machining marks on the turret walls, but there's not much you can do about it - unless you want to make all those rivets and screws again after sanding the surface smooth.

The plastic front fenders are not bad at all, but the photoetched ones really add to the look of the front part of the vehicle. The wall of the bucket holder aft of the left front wheel was a bit on the thick side, so I sanded it down.

The model was base coated with GSI Mr. Surfacer Black 1500, followed by RLM65 from Mr. Paint (MRP-058). The paint is pre-thinned and applying light coats on the black base allows you to create interesting tonal variation.

The kit decals worked beautifully and GSI Mr. Mark Softer helped them blend with the surface.

Tyres look rather light coloured in period photos. Guess this was before they started adding soot to the rubber mix (see also the light tyres on WWI planes).
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/1/6/3/564163-23274-12-720.jpg)
Wash applied (not completely removed in the pic).

The wooden planks were painted with just 2 colours from the Old and Weathered Wood set Vol. 1 by AK Interactive.

And then a wash was applied. This was my first attempt at painting wood and I'm rather happy with it.

Probably the only little omission from the kit is the clear headight lenses. Microscale Kristal Klear was used. The brass is AK Interactive Xtreme Metal.

Just a detail pic. The "leather" strap is from the photoetched fret available separately from CSM.

The Vickers machine gun comes from the ABER set "Armament for British Vickers Medium Tank Mk I". No need to say it is far better than the plastic one. Coated with GSI Mr. Surfacer 1500 and buffed with a polishing stick, which gives it that metallic look.

Some mud applied (AK Interactive Dry Mud splatter effect). I wanted to depict a vehicle that went through a few ponds some days ago, not miles of a muddy road.
![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/1/6/7/564167-23274-47-720.jpg)
Some pigments applied to represent dust. And that's it.

Hi, thanks a lot for the kind words. The kit is from Copper State Models. I am now adding all the information and linking the album to the project, i.e. you can find all the info there.
