Welcome everybody, now the fun has started. I'll give her a day to let the glue cure, in the mean time I want to make a new paint rack then I'll take some pics of my new man cave.🙂

Got the engine pods glued together in the early hours of this morning, still need a lot of attention before being installed onto the beast.

Great to see this kit, looking forward to see how you'll wrestle it into submission😉

Hi Bryn, that's the landing gear that comes in the kit, it's pretty sturdy too under all the weight that's piled up front.

All pylon/engine pods glued on now, just another hour or so of solid sanding and I'll take some happy snaps. The join from the pylon to the leading edge of the wing isn't the best so that is going to take a bit of labor to get looking right.🙁

Started a different thread I see! LOL Whenever I get around to mine, I will do side by side pics with the Bone. Should be interesting to compare them.
I have the resin cockpit upgrade, so maybe I wont need quite so much lead in mine. LOL

Hey Don, do you want a B-1 compared to the B-58 photo I can do that. Just give me 10 minutes.😢

And for my mate Don and everybody else that is curious to how big a Hustler is compared to a B-ONE, the picture speaks for itself.🙂

Bart, I plan on masking up the undercarriage, then painting the underside after the black and grey primers I plan on using go on. I'll let her dry for a week or so then paint the topside, all with Alclad II paints. I'm going to cheat a little most of the primer will be black in prep for the coats of Airframe Aluminum, but for panels that I want a different shade I'll have them primed in grey. By doing that I'll get different shades without having to do any extra masking. Areas on the engine pods will be painted in different shades of metal, I'm actually really looking forward to painting her, but it's a little ways off yet.
Holly, the B-1 is a much bigger aircraft, after seeing one back in 2017 at the Australian Airshow I can tell you I'm 6 foot tall and the main undercarriage leg was taller than me, she's huge and beautiful.
Wim, your more than welcome to grab a seat, and hopefully later in the year the B-1 will be getting worked on as well.

I love how the B-58 and B-1 have very similar lines in regards to the tail and fuselage. Makes for two very, very fast beautiful bombers.🙂

No, no scribing for this little fellow, I'm defiantly not going to start a massive job like scribing her. That would for sure kill my mojo on this kit, sanding is enough.😢

Thanks Timothy, I need all the encouragement I can get, she's a real mojo killer with all the prep work you have to do before painting her in NBM.🙂

It will work out fine, maybe deepen it first a bit and fill it with CA and sanding dust... dries fast, and easier to sand then regular CA

Wish I had words of wisdom on that, but seams are NOT something I deal with well.

ah, then you show patience on other angles of the hobby... only had a few bummers lately with them... my spitfire cracked open after applying the NMF, and now due to the design of the resinkit, there also appeared some cracks which I hope to solve when I get around assembling the cockpit... but i agree it's a tedious work, but it comes with the job... and as my father said, when you don't like to do certain things, do em as good as possible, then you have to to them only once...

The only problem with putting the strip of plastic in the seam join is the more I cut the further the crack went. I'll fill the ends with super glue and let it harden for an hour or so and sand it all down. In the mean time I need to do some work on a VF-11 Cat.😢
