@ForestFan The technique I used in the Spitfire for the superior area of the fuselage was to first make a pre-painting with diluted black paint. Secondly I used the base colors of the plane, in this case the Mid Stone Hataka A013 and Dark Earth Hataka A009. The third step was to lighten both colors with white and I applied with the airbrush the painting in certain areas in a random way to show the exposition of the painting of the plane to the desert sun, now you aplly a layer of glossy varnish to protect the painting. Fourth I used a technique that regretably I don't know the name in english, but it's called "panelado" in spanish. For it I marked the lines between the panels of the plane with the Mid Stone color and I used the PWL AMMO MIG 1612 and in the Dark Earth: dark wash AMMO MIG 1008. Fifth step is to apply a mix of oils with a predominance of desert type of colors like Ante, Sand, Ochre, Earth and Dark Green, they are all OilBrusher from AMMO MIG. Afterwards you pick up a flat brush with thinner and in the direction of the wind you start to mix the colors throught the panel separations.

@ForestFan The technique for the bottom fuselage starts by painting the plane with the color Azure Blue Vallejos, then you apply a layer of glossy varnish. Afterwards you apply Nature Effects AMMO MIG 1404 "Polvo del Norte de Africa" (North African Dust perhaps?) and you do the "panelado" with AMMO MIG 1617. Then repeat the technique of the OilBrush but only the desert type colors and ochre paint, and that is all. Hope it helps, thank you for your comment.
