Tire pattern looks awful even after painting. I decided to fully remove it. IMHO bald tires looks better than original.
To add a new accent to the tires, I painted the letters in white.

I decided to saw off headlight sockets and glue them directly to avoid misaligning
Bumper is a bit wider than hood 🙁
Found such grille for exhaust pipe. Not in scale but anyway better than original (nothing).
Some improvements for interior.
Masking tape strips - this is how much and where I plan to cut out

Next idea - I plan to remove those ugly windshield wipers. Windshield is plain so there shouldn't be a big problem to sand and polish it.

I too paid a small fortune for this kit, and was unimpressed. It's actually a snap kit, re-branded with new decals. Their latest offering is the KISS tour truck, which is the same kit. I'll wait for someone to replicate the decals in 1:25 and make my own. I definitely won't be wasting my money this time.

Yes, it is a snap kit with huge pins and holes (at least truck part). There are only two pros for this kit: it's a quite small truck with trailer and, of course, nice decals 🙂 Everything else is terrible 🙁 But I'll try to do my best to make this plastic crap look like model.

Thanks, mates! 🙂
Working on this kit is exhausting but at the same time I test on it few new ideas and techniques so this appears to be a nice "training ground". Especially because it is hard to make this kit even worse as it is 😄

Kudos to you, for your patience with this kit. I need to clean the dust off mine and try to apply the decals still.

Thanks, Bozzer! Actually my patience slowly drains out, kit is really garbage. The only good thing is that chassis is almost complete and looks good enough, considering how bad was original parts. I'll post pics later.

OK, here are pics of chassis. Some small final touches are required but overall, everything is complete. I ran into problems with chrome paint on mudguards so I repaint and add them later. And transmission joint isn't installed yet because it is easer to keep chassis in hand without it.
