Wow, you are definitely the fastest gunslinger online 😄 Did not even manage to sort the pic & here he is already! Thanks mate, yours was a fine project to follow & compare too, I think we took the Australian Grey Pig recipe from 2 completely different directions - one clean, all-open on the ground & mine worn down by service & in flight, soon to be buried in the dirt... 🙂
Rolands build:
Scalemates Varkfest Group build 2019 | Album by REM-xfjplqso18-Rolandrevolvermann (1:48)
The pilots - put together from this set - nothing stellar, but does the job:
US Pilot / Ground Crew Set B (Hasegawa 36005-1200, 1:48)

What to say about this bird and / or it's builder. I should take a dictionary and look for superlatives. It was a pleasure to follow you on the journey to this final result. And what result. Absolute top. Congrats Slavo

Ifever there is such a thing as the "Scale Mates Hall of Fame" created, your guaranteed to be top of the list.
You have certainly made a big impression on all of us Slavo. A pleasure to watch and learn.
Thanks mate. 👍 😉

This is a Masterpiece, dynamic pose, dynamic stand, love it. The subtle variations in color/shading make this big dark-grey-only machine still very interesting to look at, without having to exaggerate over the real thing 👍Your build documentation was again really inspriring and entertaining, keep em coming slavo!

Chapeau! Kannst du paar Fotos vor echtem Hintergrund machen und den Halter wegphotoshopen? Ich wette, dass man das Model und Original nicht auseinanderhalten kann...

Slavo, your ability to capture the realism of an aircraft is always astonishing. Like your other builds, this one was a pure pleasure to watch.

Thanks Palo, Lode, Kerry, Daniel, Bernhard & Treehugger!
Palo - You should unbox yours - the kit is really a pleasure to work with!
Lode my friend, thanks for your kind words & many inspirations (in techniques & attitude) I took from your work!
Kerry, the Hall of Fame would be lined with your albums & tips 😄 It's now time to close the Boneyard wrangler photo-series, which I had permanently open in my browser tabs😉 I could not make the Wrangler himself (lack of tail-markings...), but tried to "catch the spirit". Your approval is music in my ears!
Bernhard, I was thinking about it - I plan to get a shoot with a better camera (this was a cell phone...) and try a thing or two in editing - we'll see 🙂
Daniel - glad you like it & now back to the aggressor build! (the crazy blue-grey camo pattern F-16 finish still on my mind...😉 )

I wish you could take some more photos of the whole model. 🙂 My tip is to use a tripod, and then making sure you zoom in from a distance, that way you get a more realistic looking photo, or, one avoids the typical perspective distortions when people place their camera too close to the model they can to take a photography of.

Treehugger - I do have some plans on improving my photo-pipeline, hopefully with the next builds - thanks for the tips - a tripod & proper camera woul surely come in handy! 🙂
Kerry - that's most reassuring, and compensates the mixed reception my finishing sprint got from my "primary" family😉 😄
Sergej, thanks & happy you followed through!

I love super detailed models Slavo and you are one of four on this site so far ahead of we, the thronging masses. This masterpiece, another from your creative hands is further proof of your incredible patience, skills and talents. Thank you, thank you and thank you again. All of us Aussies loved our Pigs, so ugly they were beautiful. So potentially deadly our regional neighbours complained of the intimidation they carried. You have done a beautiful job with this icon and again, thank you!

Thanks Peter, Spanjaard, Munky, Greg, Donald & Patrick!!
@Peter - Thanks mate for such praise 😮 ! - & rest assured that Mr. Boats, bikes & space-fighters is surely no thronging mass to me! 👍 I definitely had my "How I learned to love the Pig" story with this build. I am just sorry I missed a proper Dump & Burn show in your corner of the world, I only saw a US Vark "live" once, but fell in love with the sharp triangle shape, which -blasphemy- I like just that little bit more than a Tomcat 😉
Greg, when you go 48-scale, you would surely manage to hide an aerosol dispenser & a little lighter in all that space 😉
Patrick - exactly what will happen when my kids get their hands at it! 😄

Brilliant build! Little bit to clean for me but in your interpretation, your high skils are visible 🙂

This has definitely been a great tour in model making perfection, you really made a beautiful F-111. I find your eye for the smallest details remarkable and inspiring at the same time. You are my favorite builder here at SCM, I hope to be able to follow you for a long time mate ...!

Konrad -
Ok it seems that everything is said so far. So I confirm everything above. Congrats mate for this kind of superb modelling.
I'm not a great Fan of this bird but your build looks so cool that I want to build one of them too....
Anyhow enjoy the finished one with a Fine Glas of Scotch😉

Thanks Jakub, Jos, Konrad, Neuling & Michael!
@ Jakub - get your point, but I got lectured by some Aussie home-turf pro's that they kept the very clean! Saving the wear & grime for some post-Soviet projects coming up...
@ Jos, my friend, I'll be proud & honored to be your wingman in the Scalemates 4-th gen fighter squad - with some other venerable names (most gathered here by now) 👍
@ Konrad - the beauty of the Pig/Vark is a thing to be digested slowly over time... like that Scotch you suggest😉
@ Michael, you are my "resilience trainer" - everytime I see your build or collection of albums, I want to buy the kit & have a go...

Roland - a variable geometry airplane always leaves a few doors open!😉 + the HB kit is a great base 👍
Hope you'll enjoy the next run with my Flanker/Hornet build, updates following shortly!

This is clearly the master model, how to use MrPaint laquer paints 👍 A great piece of art, which leaves me speechless! I want to paint a Tornado one day in the future like this, but prior I have to learn a lot.

Apologies, to used to using TLA's (Three Letter Acronyms, yes I know ITAR is four). Its the agreement countries sign when buying military equipment agreeing not to onsell etc without approval of original manufacturer (USA in this case). Its so we don't get parts or complete systems ending up where they are not wanted.

Thanks Maciej, Bughunter, Elco, Scott, Bryn, Zsolt & Nathan! - for all the nice comments & praise - most appreciated, I am really happy you find that the build captured some of the "feel" of the Aussie Pig as it approached the end...
& thanks for the intel as well - I thought the radical treatment was necessary because the G-version is basically the FB-111A, which was AFAIK not a FB/Strike aircraft, but a SAC strategic nuclear bomber, hence special requirements for irreversible de-militarization... Something like the dismembering of the Tu-160´s in the Ukraine in the early 2000´s:

Always happy to learn stuff! 👍

Finally finished!
The OOB model was a pleasure already, added Eduard PE for cockpit and a modification of the engines (replaced by Aires F-14 engine parts & heavily modified kit-parts (corrected to 6 supports instead of kit´s 5).
Painted with MRP´s and Oils
Absolutely enjoyable journey! Thanks everyone who stayed tuned over the long months 🙂
