canopy was damaged (either in transit or storage). Rather than try for a replacement, I just did a basic fix. Maybe I should have taken this as a sign to do a junkyard diorama

half an hour masking then 30 seconds of painting😉 The red and blue trim turned out ok, with not too much touch-up required

I want to do the AN-2 on floats in the next few months or so, the kit doesn't look too difficult, but maybe you found out otherwise...

Thanks Bas. I'm not a very experienced judge of kits, but this (and presumably the float version 01606) was decent if basic. Goes together quickly but with a couple of fit issues that need filling and sanding, and probably no awards for accuracy and detail. nevertheless, I liked the end result!
