Assembly complete on this fairly straightforward build. Unfortunately riddled with sinkmarks, but still a nice build. 3D printed parts and some upgrades from LeopardWorkshop add extra detail and interest

Welcome onboard Ingo! I did indeed design the 3D parts myself for my previous Leopard 1V projects, but they can be used for all Dutch Leopard variants. I found that my parts are better than those provided in the kit, so I used my own 3D parts instead.

Thats cool! 👍 What software did you use to design them?
I am going to buy a 3D printer in September and already planing to design many different 3D parts for my Leo 1 & 2 builds. Not sure what software to use.
I am currently scratchbuilding an Leopard 2PL but want to design the parts in 3D and print them.

I use Autodesk Fusion360. It's easy to use and there are many tutorials for the software online. I'm absolutely no expert on CAD design, but even with the little skill I have I am can make useable parts for my hobby. For me 3D printing has been a game changer. My MLC-70 project for example would never have been possible without it. What 3D printer are you planning to get? I started out with the Elegoo Mars, but recently upgraded to the Anycubic Phonon Mono X. The extra size and better resolution are fantastic. Feel free to send me a PM if you need help!

Thanks mate. I am going for ANYCUBIC Photon Mono but still unsure if i really need the X or not.

Ingo, it depends on what you are planning do print with it. Small conversion parts like for the Leopard 1V or Leopard 2PL will be absolutely fine on the standard Mono, but if you want to do bigger conversions such as my MLC-70 the extra size of the Mono X will make things a lot easier. As far as details and resolution of the prints is concerned both printers are identical, and plenty good enough for 1:35 scale or smaller.

Jasper, as for me i am only planing to print small parts and figures. Even if need to print something big, i can cut the model in smaller parts and glue them together. Also a colleague of mine have a Prusa i3 MK3S+ pla printer and i can ask him to print the part for me. 🙂
I think i will go with the standard Mono.
