Album info

So I finished my first tank model (actually a month ago, on 28th of August), the biritsh Challenger II MBT in the Kosovo Forces from Trumpeter.

It was fun to build, except for the rubber tracks and the littlebit too tight turret bottom fit everything went together nicely. I didn't know too much about rubber tracks, I knew many people hates it, but I didn't really know why. Well now I know, model paints don't really like flexing and they started to peel off just as I started to assemble (yes I painted the tracks in advance), which was pretty disappointing, I remade some of it but sadly it peeled more since I finished it. Mistakes have been made, lesson have been learned.

It was also my first time trying Acrylic paints (from AK), and after enamel it was littlebit worse to use, I could not really make a consistent and smooth layer, maybe I was applying it too thick (I used paintbrushes).

I tried the dusting effect I saw in Nightshift's video (Youtube Video), but I think I put too much paint in the mix so the effect was more heavy and incosistent, but it wasn't that terrible for a first build in the end. I tried to get a similar result than on the reference picture (see: this project's cover image).

I'm kind of pleased with the result, of course there is a lot of room to improve.
There is also a diorama in the making, but I don't know when will I finish it.

Paints and materials I used:
-AK Acrylics (main color and dust effect)
-Revell Enamels (for wash)
-Valleyo Thick Mud Acrylic
