CV-340 Hawaiian Airlines WIP
Next project, gonna be a nice pallet cleanse after the last couple.
Gonna experiment a little and try masking the windows before attaching and see how difficult it is to remove. If it works, will save time, if not, no big deal.
Attaching the wing halves.
Little more work done tonight. Got the weights added so this should not be a tail sitter. I'll probably add a little more behind the engines as that should help keep the CG forward of the mains.
Now onto an issue. Dry fitting the fuselage to the wing revealed a major fit issue between the two. This is as far as I got for tonight, will try sanding some more tomorrow. Also the attempt at liquid masking the windows before attaching didn't pan out as the tolerances between the windows and the fuselage are really tight. So good idea but not gonna be practical.
Work on the 340 from the last few days. Attached the side windows to the fuselage halves.
Opposite side
I then took the opportunity and attached the horizontal stabs to their respective sides.
Next came getting the two sides together.
Then attached the wings. Need to do a little cleanup of the joining but making good progress.
Small update, got good portion of paint on the CV-340. Need to do a little masking for the landing gear bays, but finally making progress again.
So to show I have not forgotten about this guy, I got the landing gear bays painted. Should be ready to go with decals now.
Progress on getting decal on the CV-340
Got the decals on the fuselage and am in the home stretch now. Decided to also add a simple base to give it a little more class.

Landing gear on
Engines on
Finishing up the CV-340 today. Got the landing gear doors on first.
Then moved on to attaching the props.
Next came the antenna.
Then finally finished up by gluing it to the base. Overall am satisfied with how this turned out.

I love those civilian props of the fiveties and sixties. Count me in.

Love this classic airliners - looks like a typical Roden kit but I see you manage the challenges well 👍
