Revell. 1/32 Me262 A1
While the parts are drying after the soapy wash I take care of the box too make it usable.
Revell keeps on making this side opening box style because it is cheaper and environmental better because it saves on paper.....
So I just unglue it
And join the sides with staples
Here they are
So easy. This way the box became usable and the planet will live a few seconds more... ?
Meanwhile parts are dried. It's August and I should be at the beach it's only a mile away.
Until now I've been cleaning parts and building as much as possible without the need for painting.
I could clean a few more parts but I am getting bored so let's start painting.
For me there is a limit for cleaning and cutting parts . That`s why my models take too long to be finished. Some modeler`s can paint all the parts of the same collor at once. I can`t. I need to make a break from time to time and make other things.
Anyway this time I`ve painted a few parts of «green». Gun barrels have been hollowed and painted......waisted time....nothing will be seen.
....And gray...
Has I told before this kit was a bargain. Why ?
Ups
Another ups....
This is also a challenge to join...
Has I told before due to the poor quality of the kit I decided to make it with all access doors and hatches closed and to not waist time on interiors. Anyway I hollowed and painted the gun barrels wich took me some time and at the end nothing will be seen. Also details on the body are almost invisible and must be rescribed.
Well I open the hole here in case someone needs to start the engine.....
I wonder how am I going to rescribe this.....there was a one and a half mm gap between wing and fuselaje on this side. Also the wing fairing on the fuselaje was a lot higher.
....not finnished yet.......
who cares about the interior if the exterior stinks ? The fit of the engine nacells its not so bad but it is anyway. Few more days of worki
This picture is to help our mate Ninetails to decide which Me262 to buy. Thi is the left side wing join all leveled from the front to the rear. If you look the original you have steps at the rear and front.
Right side not finnished yet.
The gun bay doors after a lot of work.....
the other side
Rear botom join of the wing. You will get a nice heavy step in here also.
The details in engine nacelles are invisible but the parts fit so badly that large steps will have to be eliminated. So, every details have to be rescribed again.
almost there
Not okay yet
More putty
I think now its finnaly ready for paint
That`s enough for me. Now it`s time for paint.
After pre shading with white ,RLM76 was aded.
This is the way I choose to mask the tail. It was tedious and its hard to make round edges.
Left side.....
Right side with masks ready for painting
Once again I`m using the montex stencil`s. Not easy but if it goes well the final result its a million times better than decals. Anyway don't forget: never use montex masks over laquer paint.
white first
Than the tricky part. Applying the fine lines to make the white edges
Finnished
Also the underwing cross
Both sides.
Still some touch ups to make.
No gloss varnish no carrier film no decal softner and most of all no silvering.
Still a lot to do....
Still a few things to paint.
Done
Major painting is done. Next will be the small decals and stencils.
Meanwhille small parts are on the way
Brake lines........nothing to complex.
Almost done. Matt varnish applied (vallejo acrylic ) ended almost semigloss. Let it dry until tomorow. It looks i need to use other varnish.
It realy doesn`t look matt..
Scratchbuild Hook for the antena .
Can`t believe the time lost and the amount of putty used here
The same for this side
Also in the wing joint
Almost done

Coming along nicely. Lots of hard work that you are putting in.

The kit is so bad because the German's ran out of materials and man power towards the end of the war

One thing I've never heard from anybody. I need to make a video about. Never ever use Monte masks over laquer paint. Even if they have been drying for days. I already tested with Tamiya and hataka. The mask glue will stay on the paint
