The real thing #2
Old work at the point of being sidelined
Construction resumed
Original exhaust stack kit parts
One side hollowed out, other side still original
Both side kit exhaust stacks drilled out
Exhaust stacks and nose front installed
Exhaust stacks, nose front, nose gun fairings installed
Added wing skin and a spar to the wheel wells to close up the empty spaces. Also filled in drop tank mounting point as AVG Hawks had no drop tank capability.
Basic airframe completed
Primer on and ready for paint
Camouflage paint on using Vallejo Model Air colors with silly putty masking… need to go back and enlarge some of the green areas.
Decals on, wash started
Paint touched up, squadron color tail stripe added, and gloss coat on, ready for decals
All finished, front 1/4
All finished, rear 1/4

Thanks for commenting folks, hope that you enjoy watching this one. I didn't even think of fixing up the wheel well issues until I had already assembled the wings and it was too late to do it right.

I just picked this up for a few $ to have an easy build and wow, the molds are showing their age. Interested to see what you do with it!

Thanks John. Most of what I do with this will be paint work, nothing too fancy.

@Villiers, thank you sir. Basic techniques on this one- Silly Putty and Tamiya tape masking, plus Vallejo Model Air and Tamiya acrylic paints. So far, so good 😉
