So, as a kid I had the Revell F-4 T-bird kit. I of course started it but never finished it up. Like so many models early on. LOL
So I consider this my first T-Bird. Its the already chromed Tamiya kit. Silly me, I thought this would be a quick few day build. *snort* This is where I am now. LOL

Some progress. I did screw up a bit. I felt that if I primed the nose piece in white, the red would be more pink. So i used black. Turns out it was too dark. *sigh* I went back over it again, so its not quite so big a difference, but its still noticeable. Grrrr.

Got the wingtip tanks done. I was worried those wouldnt come out great, but they did. Each one is 5 white decals. They actually lined up pretty well. So to do the rest of the regular markings.
Also, I managed to knock it off of the stand and explode the front landing gear. *sigh* I have another Tamiya 84G in the stash, so I ordered a set of SAC landing gear and I will grab the kit set from that one for this one. And that will be the LAST thing I do now. LOL

It's done but for the canopy. Waiting on the masks to get here Mon because I don't feel like doing the whole cutting them myself thing. So last pic before the finished shots.

Alrighty. My only real issue has been keeping the damned decals down on the metal finish part. I have had to Solvaset them repeatedly to within an inch of their lives to get them to stay. I think.

Good tip on the decals. I would have expected them to stick but perhaps not…

Ben, its TOO smooth. They just lift off if you dont set the hell out of them. I just went back a couple weeks ago and had to apply more in several spots. Its insane. LOL
Roland, thank you sir. 🙂

Mr. Mark Setter is kinda "glue-like" so maybe it would work if others start to lift?

I have never used that. I may give it a try. Thanks for the tip!
