Haven't really taken any pics of this but there isn't much to these kits anyways. I really enjoy them though. They build into nice little Indycars and the engines can look nice with just a little detail added. Engine mostly done. I'll probably wire it. Paint is done. Easy livery on this one.

Jv, they're pretty solid old kits. I'll post some updated photos soon. I have several in stash. They released them with several different driver/sponsor and engine combinations. Also a couple different chassis options. Penske, March, Lola. Plus aftermarket decal options.

I've been picking them up for dirt cheap ever since I got back into building. Sometimes get lucky at the local flea markets/antique malls just like the old nascar kits I've built.

Jv, Kmart is gone over here. They used to sell these kits and others in there. I understand some wal marts are bringing back model kits. They haven't made it back to mine yet. But those are the places I used to buy all my kits when I was growing up.

Getting somewhere with this now. Working on wiring the engine and the cockpit is complete.

Looking good brother! You could have some serious fun, with one of my big rig kits! But once you start, you can't stop, lol.

Thanks Bozzer! I plan to get into a few of the big rigs at some point. My first job as a sniveling kid was washing and polishing the fleet of Pete 379s a local farmer had. I've enjoyed big rigs ever since. I've got the hideout truck Kenworth Aerodyne of Tyrone Malone I'm going to build as a generic hauler already in stash to dip my toes in.

Just a heads up on that kit mate.
It's notorious for being a pig, with bent chassis rails and weak plastic. I have one myself, still to build. The white, Super Boss has much better plastic and can easily be painted black and decals added. I would recommend the italeri Superliner, for something to get started. Again, not without issue, because they somehow managed to mould the turbo wrong, but it's an easy fix. It builds into a great model too. I'm sure that you will find a cheaper, early version, on that well known auction site? I have a few in my stash, all waiting for the right moment 😉

I have heard it's a truly terrible kit. That's wonderful. I bought it because I loved the idea of a cabover ramp truck but didn't do any research first. It's ok. I got it for cheap. I'll pick something else up. Maybe that super liner. Good old Round 2. They also re-released the Ford LN 8000 ramp truck, which I also like. Probably equally terrible plastic. And then I'm sort of the same vein but also different I have the Atlantis re-release of the old Monogram Mack. I actually have plans to start on that soon. Appreciate all the info Bozzer

The Monogram AC is a cool kit. You'll find plenty of reference pictures, at the Mack Museum website, and TripAdvisor. Definitely look into it Superliner, it's a lovely kit. Then you are prepped, for any big rig. Obviously, feel free to give me a shout, should you encounter any problems, with any big rig kits? If I've not built it, chances are that I know someone who has, and it's flaws. 100%

Are those Eduard prepainted PE belts? If so, great result. I have tried those a couple of times in rally cars and they are not easy to work with.

Bozzer, I'll try to pick up one of the Superliner kits. And if I run into anything you'll be the first to know. Thank you.
Bossy you nailed it. Thank you!! I have several sets of the Eduard pre painted belt sets, as well as a couple Tamiya sticker type sets and some generic other ones. I actually really like how these Eduard ones look but, yes, they aren't the most user friendly. Every time I build a race car I ask myself if it's worth the effort. 😂

It does. By an entire workbench session basically. So a day gained. And no one cares but me. 🤦🏻♂️😂 I'm going to quit wiring these engines on these Lola kits too because the clearances on the engine cover to valve cover are just too tight. I can't get them flat enough. Again, probably not worth it to fight it.

And this one crosses the finish line. I really enjoy these old AMT/Ertl Indycars. This is The last kit I'll complete in 2022. I haven't counted officially yet but I will at some point this week to make sure of my final number. A fairly productive year at any rate.

That's the dogs danglies mate! Certainly came out well! You definitely have a niche for these kits, and you know how to bring out the best in them. Looking forward to getting into the New Year, with a few new projects myself.
Bill Signs Peterbilt, a custom fire engine, and a few cars thrown in, to keep my sanity. Should be an interesting year.

Bozzer, thank you as well! I grew up at the Speedway so it's nice to drop into one of these Indycars for something quick and easy. Still have several liveries I plan to build and even one I'm going to put a Buick in! Can't wait to see your projects going forward. Those sound very interesting. I love Peterbilts and fire engines!!

Kyle, my fire engine is going to be a massive build. I've spent more than 2 years, collecting the parts. Now I just have to make everything fit 😉

Thank you!! Yes indeed Ben. Those are the Eduard pre-painted photo etch harnesses. They look really nice but are tricky to use
