Polikarpov I-16 Rata, Five Star Team, Zvezda 1/144

Basic photo, gonna have some fun! 

Dark clouds are coming! No accessories in the marketplace for this kit, so need to do some upgrades by myself. 

These exhaust pipes are so bad, even if they are in 144 scale... 

...so I changed them to 0.5 mm hollow needle. 

There is no cockpit in this set just a pilot. So, first I cut out it to make some space for the seat. Used 0.1 mm plastic sheet and masking tape for the seatbelt. 

Fits really cool! 

Primaring is done! 

 

 

After primaring the surface, I made some rivet on the surface.  

Started the painting with Gunze Red and Alclad Aluminium 

For the black of the nose I used Gunze Tire Black, then masked it. 

Finished the painting! Mixing two or three shades of grey(Gunze) to be satisfied with the result.  

At the back of the engine I had to paint the curves with brush. 

Decaling time! 

Finally it's time for some weathering.
