Kitty Hawk 1/32 T-6 Texan

This was a commission project for the owner and pilot of the aircraft depicted on the photograph who I fly with on a regular basis. The build was a heavily modified version of the Kitty Hawk 1/32 T-6 Texan kit and although there is an alternative boxing of this kit with the markings for this aircraft, they are incorrect for the time period and current configuration. I used a combination of kit markings, Ventura decals and masking and spraying of various markings mainly for the red and white checkerboard on the engine cowl and the anti slip walkways on the wings. A lot of scratch building and modifications were done in the cockpit as well as scratch building the side locker. The base was simply a picture with some artificial grass which some custom made patches of which are the same as what myself and my pilot wear on our flight suits.
