Oh! This is a dream kit...

the FineMolds kit of the MF builds extremely well (no gaps or flaws,...) / comes close to the tamiya quality. It's a lovely model to build and to paint.
I just finished the pre-shading phase and it looks very well. I'm going step by step in this stage of modelling 'cause I still have to learn a lot about a huge amount of skills at the same time. So I take my time, and as so many of us will probably do also, it goes by trial and error and sometimes starting over again a few steps back in the modelling process.
I'm going to try and post some pictures of my 'ongoing' projects. First have to learn how on this website.

I would be suprised if there was any gap at all with this kit. I'd say that Fine Molds exceeds Tamiya when it comes to kit design.

I have taken some pics of the model at each stage of the building and painting stage up to now. I will add them as soon as possible.

Millennium Falcon is finished, after 5 months of learning how-to's and just doing things, even without having done them before. Real modelling fun, hey guys...

For those who are interested to see the result of the Millennium Falcon model, I've put a couple of pics of the finished model in my Photo Album. Have fun.

Wonderful result mate, it really looks the part. Have you made the battle damage yourself or is it molded with 'em?

did everything myself, with a Dremel hobby drill. Looks good for a two minute job doesn't it. It's the first time I tried this. I got the battle damage detailing from the pictures that came along with the box set, showing one of the actual models that has been used for the first two star wars movies. The rest was just weathering fun.

thanks a lot. Although it took me 5 months to build and paint it and in spite of a lot of cursing and having to restart some things, I enjoyed every minute of it and I enjoy the result even more. It's a large model, approx. 40cm long, in spite of the 'small' 1/72th scale, a lot of youth memories in it...., fun all the way. Now back to the 50 or so other models that await treatment :-D
