October 26, 1965 to June 21, 1966: The first of two VA-76 combat cruises to WestPac-Vietnam. VA-76 flew the A-4C Skyhawk with CVW-9 and struck from USS Enterprise CVAN 65.
Alternative: A-4C Skyhawk AE-501 (BuNo 147704) from Attack Squadron VA-76 "Spirits" aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVAN-65) in 1963. Whole rudder in green with white stars.
VA-76 was assigned to Carrier Air Group 6 (CVG-6) aboard the Big E for a deployment to the Mediterranean Sea from 6 February to 4 September 1963.
