The Valiant is just... no. Although a TSR2 is technically V-shaped? *cough*

There's a thought. Engineering problem - how to make the dio with one wire going in the back of the Vulcan and out the other side as the probe and then up to support the Victor. If I solve that, I have something to sell to the guys trying to build a space elevator.

haha, carbon nano tubes !! 😄
Extra strong magnets would work😉
or string, if you have a ceiling 😄
But I was thinking more along the lines of a wall mounted affair with a suitable ariel sky/ground back drop.
Using brass, steel tube or a carbon fibre rod (3/4mm diameter) along the inside of the wings as far as you can go, at least from one wing tip to the other side of the fuselage, so the rod/tube goes through both wing roots and out through one of the tips.
Use some 13mm thick plywood to mount the backdrop, drill a couple of holes to except the wing tip rods so you can mount the models by their wing tips for maximum discretion of the supporting rods etc.
Frame and hang it like a picture on your wall 🙂
Anyhow that was the thought that went through my mind when I saw these two kits in one project 😄

It's a great idea. At the moment I have most of my output (and all that is is the Chieftain project but I planned ahead for the stash) is constrained to a large display cabinet. Fitting a display like this inside it is quite possible as there is plenty of space between the shelves.

The nice thin about the idea is that it would be quite quick and easy to do 🙂
Thinking about it I would use steel rod as it bends 🙂
and where it leaves the wing tip I would bend it downwards for two reasons,
firstly so it doesn't slip out the hole as you would drill that an angle too,
secondly so you can tilt the models towards you slightly so you get the effect of looking from above,
Make sure the horizon of the backdrop is above the halfway line to accentuate the looking from above,
this will help hide the little bit of rod poking out from the underside of the wing tip 🙂
I really hope you go for it though as an inflight refueling dio is not something I've seen before 🙂

Definitely considering. And no. It's not a Black Buck job. Not enough Victors...

In general, I'm more into the 70s for my aviation. So my excuse is the Falklands was 82.

Haha, well, ok then, I shall have to respect your "Awthoritay'" ...😉
.... but at least you have a free idea to play with 🙂
Anyhow, I'm sure whatever the scheme you go for they will look cool as a pair 🙂
