M8 Howitzer Yugoslav Partisan - Tamiya 1/48

M8 Howitzer, handed over by US Army towards the end of WW2 to the Yugoslav Partisans, seen here during the liberation of Zagreb. Model is by Tamiya In 1/48, which came together flawlessly, I actually didn't even glue the top to the bottom hull. It was built straight out of the box, painted with Vallejo acrylics and weathered with AK washes, pigments and pencils. US Army markings were painted with a photoetched mask and the red star was painted in thereafter by hand, just like they did it on the real thing. I was told for some of my other models that I should include a figure to make it interesting, so I included a figure of would be Yugoslav Partisan. The base was "borrowed" from another kit until I complete the base for the M8. Model 12 for 2023!
