Early morning of July 14, 1945. Aircraft from U.S.S. Randolph, U.S.S. Monterey, and U.S.S. Bataan of Task Force 38 were launched to attack the Seikan ferry and the city of Hakodate.
To intercept them, the destroyer Tachibana slipped anchor and headed out of the bay...
