The plan is to make a triple drive Freightliner from parts from (2) DD/SD kits and still have enough parts to still make a long day cab DD too. The trailer is a triple axle lowboy. I modified the lowboy by extending the front upper deck long enough to hold one car. I also decked over the triple axles on the rear to hold another. I expect to have enough deck length to display 3 cars. I traded out the trailer's 5 spoke rims for the chrome 5 hole rims from my doubles trailer kit. I used a very pretty metallic brandywine paint for this rig. The freightliner TD (triple drive) will be the same metallic red and white. I used both kit and home made decals. Scratch built headache rack and tail light bar.

With the lowboy trailer and Chevelles nearing completion, I unsealed both of my White-Freightliner kits. I was brainstorming how to kitbash the needed rims, tires axles with the inventory of kits I have. I think I have a plan. I am a little disappointed with the fact that the frame rails for the day cab version are not included. I am guessing one is supposed to shorten the DD frame. The kit(s) come with inline 6 cylinder engines. I am contemplating swapping in the V8 from the Ford Coca Cola truck I am parting out. What do you think?
Hi Bill, I'd go for the V8, to be honest only because I thought that's what they had in them.
Were they 2 stroke Detroit Diesels?
I do not know about the 2 stroke but I think the kit(s) have 6 cylinder Cummings diesels.
Just placed my order from Auslowe. I will now be able to convert to rectangular head lights. YAY
I'm confused already Bill!
All those tractor units shown have quad round headlights
