Do you intend to build the Polish "civilian" Yak (the one depicted on the box top), Michael? That would be great 😉

Hi Robert. It had crossed my mind. I think it would be a good contender for a simple diorama. There's a photo of one on concrete plinths in a park with lush green grass around it. That one appeals to me as you could go to town with the abandoned look.

Yes, Michael, you're right. It is a good idea IMHO, too. There were many Yak's standing on plinths here and there in Poland (in my town too), and the one you probably think about still is exhibited in Cracow:
lotnictwo.jpe.com.pl..lskie/krakow-jak-23/
There is a story, that when she was put on these plinths there was still the engine installed in workable condition and some fuel left - and someone tried to remove the snow from the square just by engaging the jet engine...causing some serious damages around, of course. The engine was removed in effect...

Here you can find one (not a good quality) photo of Yak presented in my home town:

I really like such subjects, gate-guards, exhibits at local parks etc... And I'm glad more people (a while back, we had such a DH Venom diorama shown, here at SCM) find them interesting modelling subjects, instead of discarding them as "non-operational" aircraft... So, @Michael, you get my vote for this idea as well... And, @Robert, thanks for the links/pics!

Oh yes, she looks much better still than the one exhibited in Cracow. Actually, this one for some reason is now repainted and moved to Poznan:
muzeum.drzonow.eu/in..ale/plener/lotnictwo
Another one is kept in Cracow in Polish Aviation Museum:

I am waiting for your WIP album 🙂

Oooh, thanks for the cockpit reference Robert, that will be very helpful. Yello2 04 is certainly the one I'm keen on. I'm waiting for the kit to arrive as I only ordered on this last Friday (Brisbane time).
