Tamiya M4A3 "Easy Eight"

This Tamiya kit builds well, and except for some heavy mold seams, I have nothing to complain about its design. Highly recommended, 9/10.
I added armor and cast texture with Tamiya Basic Gray Putty thinned with lacquer thinner and stippled on with a brush. The kit was sprayed with Tamiya acrylics and weathered with pastels and acrylic dust. The Tamiya kit builds well, and except for some heavy mold seams and solid-molded grab handles, I have nothing to complain about its design. Highly recommended, 9/10.
Now for some history: The M4A3E8 American medium tank was one of the last of a lineage of Sherman tank designs, and improved on the main shortcomings of the previous variants. The most obvious change was the addition of a new turret sporting a long 76mm cannon well capable of penetrating most German tanks (although the movie Fury wouldn't like you to know that). Some other changes include wider tracks and new suspension, as well as wet storage of ammunition, greatly reducing the risk of fire. The "Easy Eight", as it was nicknamed, served postwar into Korea, and was used by several militaries into to the 60s and 70s. In fact, in South America, some Shermans are still in service!
